Miami

Donald Judd: Paintings, Institute of Contemporary Art; through July 15

The show offers a rare look at paintings that represent early steps toward Judd’s ascendance to one of art’s most significant and influential 20th-century figures. The 14 works on display were executed from 1959 to 1961, when the artist was developing his ideas about color, space and exploring the limitations of the flat plane.
